Skilled and Experienced Leader
For 25 years Aaron Thompson’s employment centralized in Corporate Risk Management and 11 years with IATSE 99. With each experience Aaron worked with in-house legal departments to develop and implement strategic planning solutions, to mitigate and protect against diverse risks experienced by public and private organizations. Aaron has been fortunate to work with IATSE 99, the Utah Attorney General Office in Consumer Protection and Commercial Enforcement, Headwaters Incorporated, KSLTV Broadcast Group, Vivint Solar, and OZ Impact-Roots Management Group, and ZAGG.

Aaron lives in South Jordan Utah after having lived in various Utah cities for the past 30 years. His passion for IATSE 99 is driven by the desire to follow his father’s footsteps, example and his dedication to public service who worked as a West Virginia Coal Miner and served as a City Councilman in Green River, Wyoming.

While living in West Jordan, Thompson served on the West Jordan General Planning and Parks & Open Lands Sub Committees and tackled a number of challenging initiatives employing his diverse skill set to achieve common sense solutions. Aaron organized campaigns to stop irresponsible high-density rezoning, lobbied to bring traffic and safety signals as well as a pedestrian bridge now in place on Baccus Highway (U111). As well Thompson secured two new parks that reside in the West Jordan Sycamores neighborhood. Working with teams to improve the success of organizations is Aaron's natural abilities.

“IATSE 99 Sisters and Brothers have a pivotal election choice today in securing a professional, patient and skilled Business Agent for the next three years! The job as the next Business Agent requires a leader to be an effective relationship builder, skilled contract negotiator and inclusive and welcoming team player . Equally, the IATSE 99 organization and it's members have a moment of choice and are at the precipice of electing to continue on the same path of the past or progressing into the future. IATSE 99 members have the opportunity to elect exponential growth, better leadership, a more skilled Business Agent and increased health of IATSE 99 as an organization or they can choose to elect leaders of the past.” Thompson said. “With all that the future of IATSE 99 needs, requires and that Utah holds including the 2034 Olympics, Now is the time to elect skilled leadership that fully understands contracts, has 11 years working for IATSE 99 and has 25 years of experience in contract negotiations to start on day one to strategically better represent, improve and grow IATSE 99. I am so thankful for the efforts of my opponents who have so many years of IATSE 99 work experience. However neither of my opponents have had sufficient contract negation experience necessary for this job and this is not the time to jeopardize the standards of living, salaries and benefits of IATSE 99 Brothers and Sisters by electing a legal unskilled and unprepared IATSE 99 Business Agent."
I.A.T.S.E. 99 Brothers and Sisters, I have been involved and worked for I.A.T.S.E. 99 for the past 11 years while working as a Paralegal for 25 years. During these past 11 years working for I.A.T.S.E. 99, I have worked as a Stagehand, Head Carpenter, in AV, as a Truck loader, Forklift Driver, Seamster - Wardrobe, Props, Up-Rigger and Down-Rigger, while negotiating contracts among many other legal duties in some of Utah's largest corporate legal departments and government organizations like, Specialized Bicycle, ZAGG, OZ Impact, Vivint Solar, Bonneville International Corporation (KSLTV), Headwaters Incorporated, and the Utah Attorney General’s Office.

"Thompson feels so deeply committed and passionate that now is the time to put his extensive leadership and work experience into “solving many of IATSE 99's burgeoning issues that can be resolved by the next IATSE 99 Business Agent.”
